I have a feeling that the rental server will become more sophisticated and AMP will not be needed.

This is a Google AMP project, but what are the recent trends?

AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages), which is also introduced on this site, is far from AMP when looking at recent trends, or because rental servers are faster and higher in performance, AMP I feel that it is becoming a reality that is no longer necessary. At the beginning of the AMP project, websites that support AMP were given preferential treatment to Google search results, but recently the preferential treatment has ended and they are returning to normal operation.

What is an AMP project in the first place?

The AMP project is a website acceleration project launched mainly by Google, and is called the AMP project, which is an acronym for Accelerated Mobile Pages. It is a popular name amplifier. Did I get to know AMP around 2018? I’m still doing WEB consulting, so I’m catching up with new technologies and tips. Under such circumstances, I also learned about AMP, but at the beginning, there were few AMP introduction sites, so it was in the top search monopoly state. Even if you look at the search console, commonly known as Sachiko, the AMP page is monopolizing the top of PV.

Higher performance and faster rental server

While AMP was booming in the WEB area, the rental server area was also quite active for several years.
The first is higher performance and higher speed by significantly improving the specifications of the server hardware. Storage is SSD at the latest, and NVMe SSD RAID configuration at the fastest is about 40 times faster than the speed of the HDD era. At the same time, the CPU has been replaced with a many-core CPU, and the processing speed has become several times faster than before. It is now commonplace to get 90 points on Google’s page insights, and the web pages are switching between crisp and WEB pages. Even a heavy-duty application such as WordPress works smoothly, so the display of websites that have not been converted to AMP is also crisp.

Network to 5G

In the rental server area, not only the hardware side but also the network has become faster. With the introduction of the next-generation communication standard 5G, the in-server network is now connected by an extremely high-speed network of 10 Gbps. The data center where the server is located communicates at 10 Gbps, and when you go out to the Internet line, the website is displayed with 5G high-speed communication, so it is crisp even on mobile. I think it is rare in the history of the Internet that the server hardware and network have been completely renewed so far. I think that the conventional wisdom has been overturned at once.

Future outlook for the WEB industry

As for the outlook for the WEB industry in the future, the hardware aspect of rental servers is expected to be even faster due to the emergence of PCIe 5.0 and DDR5 memory. As for the CPU, AMD is developing a manycore CPU, so it will be replaced sooner or later when a manycore CPU for server use is released in the future. However, the biggest benefit of the speed of the rental server is the speeding up of storage, so when the PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD comes out, the rental server company expects that it will be a replacement rush. And we believe that the network will connect both urban and suburban areas with a 5G network, enabling crisp web browsing anytime, anywhere on mobile.

In conclusion, I think the AMP project will soon fail and end. Even if it remains, it may become a mere corpse. As of 2022, access to AMP pages is more mainstream than regular pages, but since the preferential treatment of Google search has ended, what will happen in the future depends on Google’s search algorithm. After all, Google has taken the initiative in the Internet by the search engine, so depending on the mood of Google, we website operators are swung to the right and left. Recently, I feel that Google is also actively including AD ads in search engine results, so I wonder if Google’s attitude toward search results has changed. It’s not that I don’t think so. After all, 80% of the earth is dominated by Google search. We have no choice but to ensure the transparency and publicity of our search results. I’m worried that if I write something like this, it will be skipped by Google, but it’s okay. Even if it is skipped, the existence of this site is significant. It’s a memorandum of knowledge. For the purpose of providing website management know-how to clients.
